STRESS~ how to reduce or prevent??? read the following n u'll know...

Jus to share with u ... ( too much to type so while typing hearing soft music..- Richard clayderman's piano song..nice nice gei... ^_^)

Every year as exams approach, students' stress levels increase for pressure of academic achievements mounts.

According to memory expert V.Tana apart from pressure from parents, teachers and students' own determination, the wrong approach to studies contributes to stress levels.
Tana adds that students who develop proper attitudes to learning, besides using good memory techniques, will worry less about stress.

Not all stress is bad; she says there are two types of stress; 'eustress' and dis-stress.

Eustress, or positive stress is essential for memory. It motivates students to study and inspires students to study and inspires students to remain awake late at nite during exams. it also excites the mind to recall and answer questions during exams.

however, Tana adds that though eustress may help in recalling information during exams, it is not effective in exams if the questions involve problem solving.

Distress, or negative stress can be termed as excessive stress, which is associated with anxiety, worry and failure. This kinda of stress Is not favourable during exams.High levels of stress may cause loss of memory or memory blocks during exams..( WAD the..no wOnder la…sometimes I’m like dat mo!!! swt ah…hahaz..si kui…kenak P.h.D ki...hahaz..)

However if ur children have not studied, were not paying attention in school or were not active in doing ass. , stress or no stress will make no difference in their exams results. (hmm...true true..hahaz!! as in God will not help those who dont helped demself..WALAH! hehe..)

According to Tana n Achievers Platform trainer Anthoni Dass, there are many methods to reduce stress and improve concentration on studies. Here are some of them…

1) take breaks…

Many student have heard dis but dey persist to continuously stare blankly at the textbook for hrs..( u see book, book see u back..hahaz!!..)

Concentrations can be at its peak for 20-40 mins at a time..studying more dan dat without a break would reduce concentration…

2) Use memory methods ( so keh liaw…doesn’t worked on me tho…swt…)

Reading the same thing over n over again is one method to rmb, but it is a poor method..Today with the growth of psychology and mind science, there are dozens of methods to rmb school and college work..

3) Listen to music

Studying with music helps to relax the mind and concentrate better. Choose music dat is relaxing and free from lyrics…( I recommend Richard clayderman’s PIANO song..so soft de..works on me..try it..hehe..)

Heavy metal and rock music are not recommended for studies. ( DEFINITELY IS A NO!! hahaz…make u more hin n sleep earlier ah…hahaz..peng ki..)

4) Choose ur time

One parent used to wake his son up evry morning at 4 am to study..waking up early may have worked well for the parent but it seems impossible for his son who found that he concentrated better late in the evening…( WHOAh..if my parents do dat to me ah..the first thing dey’ll get from me is I’m gonna scold n shout at them..hahaz!!...)

Parents must not force methods that worked best for them upon their child. Try to discover what works best for ur child.

5) Balance ur time..

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Today’s children are torn betweem school, tuition, homework and other academic activities. A healthy child needs to balance his time with studies, games, television and friends…

6) don’t cram

cramming can cause a lot of stress as one’s anxiety level goes up. Compared with not studying at all, cramming may help some students to a certain extent as long as dey don’t over do it.

However students who allocate study time throughout the year and use effective techniques to rmb will fare better…
